It was brought to our attention that there was an error with one of the links to sign up for parent-teacher conferences. If you have already signed up, please use this link to check and make sure that you are signed up for the correct time and option (in person, virtual, or by phone). If you have not already signed up, please use the link to sign up. Reminder that you will find your child's/childrens' names already where they were signed up for in the fall. You can either leave them at the same time, or change it to another available time. We look forward to seeing everyone next week!

Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences will be done in person or virtually through Google Meet
Dates: Tuesday, March 15, and Thursday, March 17
Times: 4:30-7:30 PM
You can sign up for the night and time that works for you. Your child(ren)'s name will appear where you signed up last fall, but you can update this as needed. Please click on the Elementary Parent-Teacher Conference Schedule link below to fill in the Google sheet for conferences. You can also access this link through the Elementary News page of our website. Find the column for your child's teacher and put his/her name in the time slot you wish to meet with the teacher. If you would like for this to be virtual please put a "V" behind their name, and if you would like for it to be a phone call please put a "P" behind their name to indicate so.

Reminder as the weather goes up and down this spring. Please make sure your child(ren) bring appropriate clothing every day, including hats and gloves/mittens when necessary.

The district’s elementary building (Grades K-5) is located in Exira and MS/HS building (Grades 6-12) is located in Elk Horn. The Elk Horn community is currently starting an onsite community daycare serving all aged kids which will be running by the Fall of 2022 and a convenient resource for staff members.
Our districts’ communities are filled with community events and opportunities to get involved such as the 4th of July Parade, Fall Festival, Julefest, and Tivoli Fest.

8th grade math students worked on an activity entitled 31-derful. They were able to select any cards from a standard deck to create a 5x5 grid. The catch was that each row and each column had to equal 31. 2-9 were worth the number on the card; 10, jack, queen, king were worth 10; and the aces were worth 11. One group managed to complete the activity in under 20 minutes and two other groups were very close. Can you solve the puzzle?

Today the Exira-EHK speech students traveled to CAM High School for Individual District speech contest. What a great day for speech in Iowa it was!!! We had 18 entries perform today, we received 13 Division 1 Ratings & 5 Division 2 Ratings. All of the Division 1 Ratings will have the opportunity to perform at the Individual State Speech Competition ADM High School on March 12th. Mr. Parmley is so proud of each of these individuals and the work that was put into their pieces and time and effort that was given! Below are the results from the day:
