Attention!!! Construction class needs your help!!! Wanted: The Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton Construction class is looking for a project for this semester. In the past, we have made many storage sheds that would go in your backyard and serve as storage for lawn/gardening equipment. We would be open to other ideas, but it would really help us out, as far as convenience, if the project were to be completed here at school in the lab. Exira-EHK teachers drove up to meet with the staff at IKM-Manning today for our first day back for our professional development. Teachers had the opportunity to learn and grow from Dr. Matt Townsley (Assistant Professor, Educational Leadership & Coordinator, EdD Ed Lead ISA) from UNI! It was a great day to continue our push into our Standard-Referenced Grading, which is one of his specialties in the topic of "Why Does Grading Matter". #EEHKSpartanPride

Field of Dreams Service Trip for our Exira-EHK TAG/Leadership students who wanted to share a few more photos of their spectacular week! The MLB (Major League Baseball) and ViewBright staff were extremely helpful for encouraging us to be part of their team. Chad Olson (Exira 1993 Graduate) helped make this service trip possible for the girls with so many special duties throughout the week. We also had Drew Peppers (Exira-EHK Graduate) part of the team who works for BrightView too. #EEHKSpartanPride

Our Exira-EHK TAG/Leadership students (Kate Hansen, Macy Emgarten, Hannah Nelson) and Lisa Dreier (TAG sponsor) had a spectacular service trip of a lifetime! They worked at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville the past full week to make this awesome Iowa event possible. Our students had some amazing opportunities of service work to help the Major League Baseball (MLB) and BrightView staff that they will cherish the memories forever. We appreciate Chad Olson (Exira Alumni Student and field management of BrightView who oversee this Field of Dreams baseball diamond). Our students had to work on the Tarp Crew and Grounds Crew of this Field of Dreams Minor and MLB Major games. We practiced many hours to tarp the baseball field for a time of less than 2:00 minutes in case rains, many hours to spray down the infield, daily field work for the two games, individual responsibilities for each big game, and many long hours of preparation for the big baseball games events. We even brought in the stage for the Walker Hayes concert after the Cubs vs the Reds Major Baseball game. We had front row seats to the events too! "Big Thank You to Chad and our girls for the hard work and fun week! The people were wonderful to work with and get to know along the service trip! Wonderful memories of a lifetime!!!" expressed Mrs. Dreier, TAG Instructor. Will post more pictures later! #EEHKSpartanPride
