Friday was the annual spelling bee. The overall winner was Terra Anderson with Matty Young coming in second. These kids spelled their hearts out!

As we continue through our winter season, remember that our morning recess is still usually cold enough that that coats, hats and mittens are still needed. Please make sure students have everything they need every day.

Exira-EHK Speech Students had a great morning at State Contest! All of our performances were in the morning, and we finished before 1 o'clock. Even with a small team for group speech, we are SO proud of what they were able to accomplish!

Yesterday was the 100th day of school, grades K-5 spent the afternoon with a 100 march and various "100 themed" activities. The students and staff had lots of fun!

This week, Miss Petersen’s 4th grade started a new ELA unit called Eureka! Student Inventor. In the first lesson, her students worked in groups and had to come up with a way of moving a ping pong ball around to their group members without using their hands. So creative!






Friday is a big night at EEHK! It is LEO night. There will be a potato bar as well as free-will donation buckets at both ticket tables on Friday's varsity basketball game vs. CAM (at Elk Horn). The proceeds from the event will be used to help support Perry Community Schools.

Today's mystery musician in 5th grade was Nancy Gibson. she plays flute for the Exira band. She is also a retired music teacher. She brought 2 different flutes and showed how to tune a flute, the range a flute can play, and how to play dynamics.
